November 14–18, 2022
ExchangeAlumni working in human rights, government transparency, community activism, and civic engagement from 45 countries around the world gathered in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the birthplace of American democracy, to brainstorm ideas and share best practices on how to strengthen democracy worldwide. Participants engaged in sessions covering youth political participation, regional breakout sessions, women’s empowerment, and coalition building. Nine small grant projects were funded after the seminar in nine different countries focusing on building media literacy skills in youth, training students on policy making, and fostering advocacy skills with human rights activists.
